Elizabeth Clough is an Artist and Designer from the Yorkshire Dales.
Through her work she pursues an interest in the social importance of the arts at a grassroots level, and as an element of folk culture, ritual and celebration.
She has a comprehensive understanding of many traditional and contemporary making techniques, which fuels her ongoing fascination over the relationship humans have with the act of making.
“ I am interested in the dialogue between who we are and what we make, and aim to create works and projects that celebrate the act of making and promote a hands on relationship with materials, processes, how we shape them and how they shape us.”
She was director and curator of Red Door Studios from 2014 - 2021 and stepped down in order to be able to focus on her personal practice. She remains a resident artist at Red Door.
